At the highest point, a group of rocks with a distinctive wooden cross is known locally as the “Liebesfelsen” (Lovers’ Rock). From there, views extend across the forested landscape to the Arber.

The Laufkäferweg (Ground Beetle Trail) focuses on getting active in the fresh air, learning about nature and experiencing it with all the senses. There are 13 stations along the trail. This makes it a distinctive way to engage with nature at several stops, rather than simply taking in the views.
The Pröller Panoramic Loop begins and ends at the church square in Kollnburg. It follows the “Kollnburger Pröllersteig” nature trail. Information boards provide details about the flora and fauna as well as the forest and cultural landscape. Another viewpoint is Kastenstein: this rock formation, around 822 metres high, offers views of Kollnburg and the surrounding Bavarian Forest mountains. So, as well as views from the tower, you can enjoy vistas of the village and mountain landscape.
Art and Moments for Quiet Reflection
The “Bemalter Wald” (Painted Forest) art project combines art and nature along a hiking trail around one kilometre long, which is also part of the Baierweg. At marked spots, glass panels and glass spheres point the way to the “Worte des Lebens” (Words of Life), an oasis for reflection and meditation.
