About 3 kilometres northeast of Furth im Wald, the Dieberg rises to 639 metres; the Bayernwarte observation tower stands on it. South of the mountain, the Chamb has been dammed to form Lake Drachensee. Dieberg, Bayernwarte and Drachensee suit an interest in heights, views and bodies of water.
The Kreuzfelsen in the Upper Palatinate Forest rises about 5 kilometres northwest of Furth im Wald and is the highest elevation in the German part of the Upper Palatinate Forest.
