The parish church of “Our Lady of Jerusalem” in Duggendorf is a late-Baroque building dating from 1736. Its organ case is designed in the Rococo style and dates from 1738. The two dates are only two years apart, but refer to different things: 1736 to the building and 1738 to the case. This makes it possible to distinguish the church’s construction from its furnishings historically.
In Heitzenhofen, also within the municipality of Duggendorf, stands the Mariahilf wayside chapel. This listed building with a gabled roof has a round-arched entrance and a cross on the gable; it bears the date 1848. Its location highlights the distinction between the municipality and the town: the chapel is in Heitzenhofen, not in Duggendorf itself. The municipality’s landmarks thus include two clearly distinct church buildings.
Cycling and swimming on the Naab
A 27-kilometre-long, flat stage of the Naab Valley Cycle Route runs from Regensburg via Etterzhausen and Pielenhofen, through Duggendorf and onward to Kallmünz. The route’s length and profile give this cycling tour a clearly defined scope. Check current conditions and route signage before setting off.
A designated bathing area is located on the Naab in Duggendorf. If you are planning to swim, check local conditions before taking a dip. Cycling and spending time by the water thus offer two different options for your holiday plans.

In Donaustauf, within the wider Regensburg destination, stands the Walhalla, a Neoclassical memorial and hall of fame on the Danube. From the Stone Bridge in Regensburg, passenger boats operated by Klinger and Wurm & Noé run along the Danube to the foot of the Walhalla from Easter to October. Check the operating days in advance. There is also a walk of about 20 minutes from the bus stop to the Walhalla, via 358 steps. Another attraction within the wider Regensburg destination is the nine-hectare Nepal Himalaya Park in Wiesent. Unlike the Walhalla, this visit centres on an Asian-themed garden rather than Neoclassical memorial architecture.
