Immendingen combines cycling options with the Danube Riverside Park and its own Fasnet tradition. This gives you several concrete starting points for planning your trip: you can give different priority to cycling, time by the water and a cultural event. If you are looking for a holiday apartment in Immendingen, it helps to consider which of these interests you want to shape your trip.

Cycling on a range of routes

From Immendingen, you can cycle along the Danube Cycle Path towards Sigmaringen or Donaueschingen. These two directions offer a clear first planning question: which way would you like to go on your tour? Since September 2025, mountain bike trails have also been available in the Talmannsberg area of the municipality of Immendingen. They complement options including the Danube Cycle Path and the e-bike tours offered by Donaubergland Tourismus und Marketing GmbH. This gives you different cycling options to choose from. It is worth checking current route conditions before setting out.

Danube Riverside Park and Immendingen Fasnet

Danube Riverside Park I offers a different focus for planning your day. The park features a footbridge over the Danube, a water playground, tiered seating by the river and a promenade with a circular path. These features offer different ways to spend time by the river: take a stroll along the promenade, pause on the seating steps or visit the water playground.

Immendingen Fasnet includes a large parade on Fasnet Sunday. If this tradition is a key factor in your trip, check the dates of the Fasnet celebrations before planning your accommodation. Cycling options and the park can be prioritised according to other interests; for the parade, your exact travel dates are what matter.

The wider destination of Tuttlingen

Beyond Immendingen, the wider destination of Tuttlingen offers a broader landscape setting. Tuttlingen district covers 734.4 square kilometres and encompasses the southwestern foothills of the Swabian Jura, parts of the Baar region and the valley of the Upper Danube. The northern part of the district is home to juniper heaths and the Region of the 10 Thousanders, with ten mountains over 1,000 metres high. The district’s scenic highlights include the Danube Gorge and the Höwenegg volcanic crater. White limestone cliffs rise above the Danube Valley in the district. These regional landscapes add another dimension to trip planning alongside local cycling and riverside interests.

Water, hiking and seasonal climbing

The Danube Sinkhole between Immendingen, Möhringen, Tuttlingen and Fridingen can look different from one day to the next. Depending on the location and water levels, the Danube may carry a lot of water there, be completely dry or carry only a little water. This natural phenomenon may therefore look different even if you visit again.

The “Donauversinkung” premium hiking trail, one of the DanauWellen trails, runs between Tuttlingen-Möhringen and Immendingen. Be sure to take current trail conditions into account when planning your hike. At Rabenfels in the Bäratal valley in Tuttlingen district, the climbing areas between the “Mister Wendl” and “Gebrüderweg” routes are open from 1 August to 31 December. Check the applicable regulations before climbing.

Culture in Tuttlingen district

The wider destination of Tuttlingen also offers a range of cultural attractions. The Neuhausen ob Eck Open-Air Museum features 25 historic buildings that were dismantled at their original locations, moved to Neuhausen ob Eck and restored to their original condition. In Fridingen, the upper floors of the Künstlerhaus Scharf Eck house a museum dedicated to painter Hans Bucher of the Danube Valley; three floors display his life and work. The Museum Oberes Donautal in Ifflinger Castle combines temporary special exhibitions with permanent exhibitions on local and regional history, archaeology, Fasnet and more recent history.

In Tuttlingen, the Honberg Summer festival takes place every year at the Honberg castle ruins and attracts tens of thousands of visitors each year. If you would like to include a festival in your trip, check the specific event dates. This allows you to consider Immendingen’s local attractions separately from other cultural and landscape themes in the destination of Tuttlingen, and prioritise them according to your travel plans.
