Hettingen Castle was sold to the town by the Princely House of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen in 1978. This historical connection is particularly interesting for visitors who are interested in culture and local history.

Culture and History

In 2007, Hettingen celebrated 600 years of documented town privileges. Historic Hettingen included a castle, fortification walls that extended as far as the Lauchert, and a marketplace created by widening the main road.

The Schatzberg ruins, Hohwacht, Köbele, Buchschörrle and the Heidenschloß ruins are located around Hettingen. In the wider regional surroundings of Hettingen, you will also find Ehrenfels Castle and the Hohenstein ruins.
