Loßburg combines nature experiences in Zauberland with trails that cater to different interests. The Kinzig source and Lake Kinzig are located in the nature area there. Vogtei Tower stands on Rodter Höhe; in good weather, its views stretch beyond Loßburg to the Zollernalb. There are also themed trails in Zauberland and the Kinzigtal Cycle Path towards Alpirsbach. When planning your trip, you can therefore decide whether to focus on the views, nature-themed trails or a bike ride.

Nature themes in Zauberland

The Kinzig source and Lake Kinzig are located in the Zauberland nature area in Loßburg. The area around the lake is home to many plant and animal species. The Beaver Experience Trail focuses on one animal from this natural environment: it runs between Lake Kinzig and the source of the Kinzig along narrow paths, passing five information boards about beavers. Children can learn about beavers there and hide in a beaver lodge. The boards and the beaver lodge cater to different interests: as well as information about the animal, the trail also offers a place to hide.

The Meadow Experience Loop takes a different approach. The circular trail is just under one kilometre long and has eight themed information boards about fields and meadows. This sets it apart in both length and content from the five-kilometre Vogteiturm Panoramic Loop. The Meadow Experience Loop focuses on the information boards and the landscape themes of fields and meadows; the Panoramic Loop, by contrast, links two named destinations.

Vogtei Tower and the Panoramic Loop

Vogtei Tower on Rodter Höhe is 35 metres high and open year-round. Climb 172 galvanised steel steps to reach the platform at a height of 31 metres. The number of steps and the height of the platform are useful points of reference when planning a visit to the tower. In good weather, the views from there stretch beyond Loßburg to the Zollernalb. The view therefore depends on the weather, while the tower itself can be visited year-round.

The five-kilometre Vogteiturm Panoramic Loop links the tower and Zauberland via narrow paths. If you would like to include a route that takes in both destinations in your trip plans, this loop is a named option. Its length and narrow paths are important details about the route. Compared with the Meadow Experience Loop, which is just under one kilometre long, it is considerably longer; it also differs by linking Vogtei Tower and Zauberland. The two trails therefore have different focuses, rather than simply offering the same theme over a different distance.

Cycle towards Alpirsbach

There is also a specific option for a bike ride: the Kinzigtal Cycle Path runs from Loßburg along the Kinzig to Alpirsbach. You can return by train. This means you can plan the ride from Loßburg towards Alpirsbach and make separate arrangements for the return journey. This sets the tour apart from the trails in Zauberland: rather than a themed loop in the local area, it is a cycle path along the Kinzig with a named destination and the option of returning by train.
