This trail focuses on historical development, while the town center draws your attention to half-timbered houses and fountains.
Hiking Trails with Different Themes
The Bat Trail also combines a walk with interesting information along the way. The circular route takes about 45 minutes. It starts at the entrance to the Hella-Glück tunnel, follows the “Arbeitsdienstweg” (Labor Service Trail) to the entrance to the water tunnel, then takes an old hiking path along the Ziegelbach valley back to the Stollenklause. Along the way, you’ll learn about local bats and historic mining features.
The Bat Trail offers a different approach from the Kilians Erzweg: here, wildlife and mining features come together, while information boards on the other trail explain the history of mining. When planning your visit, you can allow for the circular route’s roughly 45-minute duration. The Ostweg trail also passes directly through the town of Neubulach.
