Nature and Trails

Givors has seven geolocated local hiking trails through rural and urban areas. The local hiking trails offer the opportunity to discover seasonal fauna and flora.

Givors is an initial stage on the Lyon–Arles section of the Camino de Santiago.

History

The second castle of Givors dates back to the 12th century. The Ancien canal de Givors was inaugurated in 1781.

The chimney of the BSN glass factory is the only surviving structural testimony to the activities of the Givors glass factory.

Culture

The Église Saint-Nicolas was built in 1820 and has 17 monumental stained-glass windows.

The Maison du Fleuve Rhône is a cultural and intergenerational meeting place open to everyone. Most of Georges Salendre’s works are exhibited in the park of the Maison du Fleuve Rhône. Givors’s cultural heritage also includes around a dozen works by him.

The Micro-Folie features nearly 3,000 works from major national institutions.
