Culture

À Ciel Ouvert is free and open to everyone. Held every two years, this art trail featuring site-specific installations extends through Riorges along the Le Renaison river and across the Plaine de la Rivoire.

From September to May each year, Les Mardi(s) du Grand Marais offers a varied concert programme in the Grand Marais hall.

The Abbaye de la Bénissons-Dieu, a historic site, is located near Riorges. Further afield in the region are the Château de Souternon, a castle; the Abbaye Bénédictine de Charlieu, a monastery; and the Château du Crozet, a ruin.

Nature

The Plaine de la Rivoire is a ten-hectare protected natural area classified as a « Site naturel remarquable ».

Events

The Fête des fleurs et des produits du terroir takes place every year on the third weekend of May in Parc Beaulieu. It brings together around 100 exhibitors offering plants, flowers, shrubs, cheese, cured meats, honey, hazelnuts, bread, pastries, Sablés, wine and cider.

Trails

The nine signposted trails, known as « balades riorgeoises », combine walks with the discovery of the local heritage. They are accessible to everyone and suitable for cycling tours.
