In Saint-Barthélemy-de-Séchilienne, Île Falcon in the Romanche Valley is a site for ecological restoration measures. The natural area of Saint-Barthélemy-de-Séchilienne also includes two wetlands along the Romanche. As part of the management plan for the Île Falcon and Pont de Gavet sites, several protected species and habitats were identified.
Culture
The Romanesque-origin Saint-Barthélémy Church in Séchilienne stands in the centre of the village, surrounded by a cemetery and featuring a bell-tower porch. Extensive restoration work reopened a Romanesque window in the choir of Saint-Barthélémy Church in Séchilienne, which is now decorated with a contemporary stained-glass window. An archival record from 1734 documents an indulgence for believers who visited the Church of Saint-Barthélémy-de-Séchilienne on the feast day of this saint.
The Chapelle Saint-François-Régis is an 18th-century chapel situated above the village of Saint-Barthélemy-de-Séchilienne. Until relatively recently, salt blessed by the priest was mixed there with the animals’ salt every summer to protect them from an epidemic. A hiking trail passes directly by the Chapelle Saint-François-Régis. The road from Saint-Barthélemy-de-Séchilienne to Laffrey provides access to the chapel.

The hamlet of Le Sappey is designated as a starting point for hikes as part of the PDIPR. The difficult Le Grand Serre hike via Grande Cuche is 12.33 km long and follows a circular route starting and ending in the hamlet of Le Sapey in Saint-Barthélemy-de-Séchilienne. The route reaches a highest point of 2,135 m and includes steep sections as well as several unmarked stretches.
Local life
The fourth edition of the La Passerelle performing arts festival took place in Saint-Barthélemy-de-Séchilienne at the Espace culturel La Clouterie. As part of the planned redevelopment of the village centre, the construction of a cultural hall was planned.
