Nature

The former La Poype zinc mine is a remarkable geological site covering 14.94 hectares in the municipalities of Reventin-Vaugris and Vienne. In 2014, it was included in the inventory of the geological heritage with a one-star rating.

The Rhône borders the territory of Reventin-Vaugris and forms the municipal boundary with Ampuis in the Rhône department. The Vaugris hydroelectric power station was built in 1980 by the Compagnie Nationale du Rhône. Also located entirely within the municipality is the Aérodrome de Reventin, which was established from 1934 onward and is mainly used for leisure and tourism activities.

Culture and History

The historic Chemin des vieux pavés in Reventin-Vaugris, with its river-pebble paving, bears the characteristics of a royal road. According to more recent research, its origins appear to date back to antiquity; remains discovered beneath the road could be traces of an earlier section of the Via Agrippa.
