One of the natural areas in Le Sappey-en-Chartreuse is the Marais des Sagnes. It is the largest high-altitude marsh in the Parc de Chartreuse. The Parcours du Marais des Sagnes is a themed, educational and playful trail focusing on the local flora and fauna.

Le Sappey-en-Chartreuse has seven permanent orienteering courses: three map-based courses and four more athletic courses. Indian Forest Chartreuse offers 15 treetop adventure courses, more than 150 stations, over one kilometre of zip lines and spectacular Tarzan jumps.
Les Écuries du Sappey in the hamlet of Bens offers riding lessons as well as horse or pony rides lasting one hour, two hours or longer. The Boucle du Belvédère is a small, family-friendly loop around the village, where you can discover various hamlets and enjoy beautiful views of the village and the Marais des Sagnes.
The Balcon de Roche Rousse is a 5.9-kilometre, moderately difficult snowshoe loop starting and ending at the Foyer de fond in Le Sappey-en-Chartreuse.
Le Sappey à la jumelle is an artistic sound walk around Le Sappey-en-Chartreuse, created by choreographer Laurent Pichaud. The experience can be reached from Grenoble without a car by taking bus N62 towards Col de Porte; the Col de Porte stop is served only on weekends, public holidays and during school holidays.
Culture
The church houses a bronze bell dating from 1665, which is classified as a historic monument. In 2002, Arcabas created eight abstract stained-glass windows on the theme of the Resurrection.
Winter
In winter, the Domaine de Chamechaude offers a biathlon stadium, groomed snowshoe trails and toboggan runs. Ski touring routes are available in the municipality, but without organised signage.
