Above the village, the Rocher du Caire forms a distinctive rocky barrier that defines the municipality of Rémuzat. Vultures fly over the village and the rock every day. Anyone wishing to rent a holiday apartment in Rémuzat has chosen this destination for their stay.

Nature

At the Rocher du Caire site, the griffon vulture (Gyps fulvus) was reintroduced from 1996 onwards, followed later by the cinereous vulture (Aegypius monachus). The rarer Egyptian vulture (Neophron percnopterus) returned naturally.

The “REMUZAT - Le rocher du Caire” route passes through the “Baronnies et gorges de l'Eygues” Natura 2000 site, which is recognised at European level for its remarkable diversity of birdlife. It must be followed in the uphill direction indicated on the map; descending via the so-called “sentier des échelles” is prohibited under Municipal Decision No. 8/2014 (Saint-May) of 1 July 2014.

The Le Béatrix route also passes through a Natura 2000 zone with remarkable biodiversity. The cinereous vulture nests in this habitat, characterised by pine forests; the route also offers views of Rémuzat and the Rocher du Caire. The Vertige des Aiguilles route covers 2 km of partially exposed ridges with views of the surrounding mountains.

In the Vallon de Rémuzat, the Maison des Vautours is a three-storey museum and tourist information office that has been welcoming visitors since April 2025. It offers exhibitions, telescopes on the terrace for observing the nests, and guided discovery outings in the surrounding area.

On the banks of the Oule in Rémuzat, there is a landscaped area offering peace and coolness.

In Rémuzat, two markets titled “MARCHÉ ARTISANATS ET PRODUITS DU TERROIR” take place in July and August. The Chapelle Saint-Michel contains an altar slab believed to be palaeo-Christian, carved from an ancient architrave block and decorated with a Corinthian foliage frieze.
