Reilhanette: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Reilhanette is a medieval village at the confluence of the Anary and Toulourenc rivers, dominated by the ruins of its castle. Most of the façades of the houses have preserved their medieval appearance.

Culture and History

The Château de Reilhanette was built in the 12th century. The surviving ruins bear witness to its destruction by royal troops in 1560. Several calades provide access to the castle. These are narrow, winding paths paved with flat-laid stones.

The Church of Saint Michael and Saint Hyppolyte is just a few steps from the Château de Reilhanette. Its interior contains three Baroque altars. More recent history is also linked to the area: during the Cold War, Reilhanette was at the center of a large-scale military project in which two underground PCTs (Postes de Conduite de Tir, fire-control posts) were established on the Plateau d’Albion.

Landscape

The esplanade of the Château de Reilhanette offers a view of the Toulourenc Valley and the plain between Reilhanette and Montbrun-les-Bains.

The “Au fil du Toulourenc” route passes through Reilhanette and then follows the river towards Savoillans.

Agriculture

Local agriculture, with which Reilhanette has historically been associated, included lavender, spelt and rough wheat. La Ferme de Margolive offers a tasting workshop featuring sensory analysis and writing games. Depending on availability, it also offers free tours of the farm and its animals.
