Viviers is designated as a “site patrimonial remarquable” in the Rhône-Alpes region. The city is medieval in character and formerly had two fortified walls.

Saint-Vincent Cathedral is protected as a historic monument and was classified by a decree dated August 9, 1906. It combines Romanesque elements, a Flamboyant Gothic choir, and structural components from the 18th century.

The Maison des Chevaliers is classified as a historic monument; its main construction phases date from the 14th and 16th centuries.

The Ancien Palais Episcopal is now the town hall.

The ViaRhôna stage from Viviers to Bourg-Saint-Andéol and Lapalud is 32 km long, takes 2 hours and 7 minutes, and is suitable for beginners and families.

Hiking is considered a nature-oriented leisure activity in Viviers. The La Joannade hiking route offers wide-ranging views of Viviers and its surroundings before continuing through the old town.
