Désaignes: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
The old town of Désaignes forms a medieval ensemble surrounded by a town wall with three gates. It has been listed since 1972.
Culture and History
The Château de Désaignes dates from the 14th century. The castle cellars offer a presentation and tasting of local products.
The museum in the Château-Musée de Désaignes covers former rural life, local history, the Resistance, the First World War, the Wars of Religion and the village schools of the hamlets.
The medieval festival of Désaignes takes place every year in mid-August.
La Chapelle Phyldus houses an exhibition space in the former chapel of the Free Church. The Porte du Bourg de l’Holme gate still has machicolations and a small lookout tower where the watchman was stationed.
The Porte Janot is located near a tower that is considered to have formerly been a prison and still has loopholes.
Anyone wishing to rent a holiday apartment in Désaignes can note this preference as a separate part of their holiday planning.
