Local Life

Every Monday in summer, the market Mondays of Local Produce and Know-How takes place in Burzet’s town park. It features local producers and craftspeople and is accompanied by cultural activities. The market includes tastings of local products, beverage service and food stalls.

Culture and History

Since June 2023, the artwork Ouroboros by Brazilian artist Henrique Oliveira has been located in the Tourbière de la Verrerie.

The Église Saint-André in Burzet dates back to the 15th century and is classified as a historic monument. Its exterior displays Romanesque stylistic elements, while Gothic features can be found inside.

Burzet’s medieval quarter comprises paved medieval lanes, the remains of a feudal castle, houses with medieval features and former craftsmen’s shops. It also preserves Renaissance mullioned windows with profiled frames dating from the 15th and 16th centuries. The quarter is open daily all year round and freely accessible.

In July 2021, the Verdier bathing area offered a small sandy beach for younger children and a swimming pool. Also in July 2021, the municipality permitted access to the Verdier, an undeveloped and unsupervised area.
