In Asperjoc, hiking trails run through forests, gorges and abandoned terraces, passing small old bridges along the way. At Pont de Bridou, the Chaise du Diable waterfall plunges over volcanic lava flows when water levels are high.

Nature

The Asperjoc section of the Thieure–Asperjoc–Le Belvedere hiking route offers views of the Volane Valley and Vals-les-Bains. In the hamlet of Thieure, a panorama opens up over the Volane Valley, the Aubenas basin and the Tanargue ridges.

Culture and History

The neo-Romanesque church of Thieure was opened for worship in 1847 and built using structural elements from a medieval predecessor church. A preserved section of the wall of Asperjoc’s medieval fortified house is visible from Laulagnet.

At the La Vieille Église site, stones from a 12th-century Romanesque church have been preserved.

Hiking Trails

The Thieure–Asperjoc–Le Belvedere hiking route begins at the INFO-RANDO sign on Place de la Mairie in Thieure. La Vieille Église can be reached via a hiking trail that begins in Laulagnet. Near Pont de Bridou, the hiking route passes a silk mill (Moulinage) and its canals, known as Béals.

Local Features

The Reine des Basaltes mineral-water spring in the hamlet of Le Raccourci is still in operation. At the spring in the hamlet of Le Raccourci, you can taste the naturally carbonated Reine des Basaltes mineral water directly.
