Culture and History

Among the ruins of Notre-Dame de Lorette, part of the gable, the jamb of a round-arched door and the foundation walls are still visible. The rural chapel of Notre-Dame de Lorette is said to have existed in the hamlet of Les Brosses in the 16th and 17th centuries.

The church of Bourg-Saint-Christophe is said to have been built around 1480; this date appears on a keystone. The present-day church was completed and consecrated on 8 November 1891.

Notre-Dame de la Côtière was created in 1958 by Maurice Cordier from stone from Oppède in the Vaucluse. It can be reached via the Montée du Château or a small path behind the former rectory building.

The Croix Martoret, also known as Croix Martoray, stands in the countryside at a crossroads of three paths, approximately 200 metres beyond the Mas Choquet in the direction of Faramans.

An orientation board above the vineyards offers views across the entire plain and of the Alpine range when the sky is very clear.

The Sentier de la Côtière can start in Bourg-Saint-Christophe and is described as an easy 9.2-kilometre route.

The „Le Sentier des Vignes“ association cultivates the Bourg-Saint-Christophe vineyard according to organic farming principles and brings the village and its heritage to life.

The Bourg-Saint-Christophe vineyard produces table grapes as well as pressed, pasteurised and bottled fruit juice.
