Poligny: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In the centre of the village of Poligny, the Church of Saint-Martin de Tours stands on a hill beside the village square.

Those who choose Poligny as a holiday destination may wish to rent a holiday apartment.

Culture and History

The nave and side aisles of the Church of Saint-Martin de Tours have barrel vaults. The church may have been rebuilt in 1611.

The site of the Chapelle Saint-Etienne has been a place of pilgrimage since the Middle Ages. The Chapelle Sainte-Anne is located in the centre of the hamlet of Villeneuve.

Nature and Landscape

The Veyre de Saint-Etienne is a clearing surrounded by a mountain basin. From there, visitors have a view of the Col du Noyer and the entire Champsaur Valley.

At the edge of the Poligny forest stands the Cabane de Prè-Lachaup, also known as the Cabane des pierres, on the border with the Noyer forest.

Trails and Views

The Cabane de Prè-Lachaup is open to everyone and serves as shelter during thunderstorms, as well as a place to take cover or warm up after a hike while descending from the Col de Chétive on the nearby GR93.

The ascent to the Col du Noyer follows a paved road shared with cars, not a cycle path.

The GR93 runs from Dévoluy in a north–south direction near the Col du Noyer to the Col de Saume at an altitude of 1,703 metres.

From the Col de Saume, the Croix de Tournel can be reached on a 30-minute round trip and offers exceptional views of the Champsaur Valley and the Ecrins Massif beyond the Drac.

Cuisine

The terroir shapes the identity of the village of Poligny; local producers offer regional specialities.
