The parish church of Saint-Nicolas de Myre in Jausiers is a Baroque church dating from the second half of the 17th century and has been classified as a monument historique since 1921.

The Mexican villas of Jausiers were built in the 19th and early 20th centuries by residents of the Ubaye Valley who had returned from the Americas; their architecture combines, in particular, neoclassical, eclectic and exotic influences.

Market

The weekly summer market in Jausiers takes place every Sunday morning in July and August. Local producers and mobile traders offer cheese, honey, fruit and other goods there.

Nature

The route to Pointe Fine passes through pine forests, over alpine grasslands at the summit and along a dizzying shale balcony; chamois and mouflon can often be spotted along the way.

Lac de Sagnes is a remarkable natural area in the municipality of Jausiers and is designated as a Natura 2000 site.

Water

At the exit of Jausiers in the direction of the Col de la Bonette lies the Plan d’eau de Siguret, a developed bathing area. Swimming at the Plan d’eau de Siguret is supervised during the season.

Jausiers’ water recreation area includes a pump track, tennis courts, a climbing wall, children’s play areas and shaded picnic areas.

Geographical Location

The access road to the Col de la Bonette and Restefond runs through Jausiers via the C1; the route climbs to the summit at an altitude of 2,802 metres.
