Vouillé: Vacation Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Circuit de la Vallée de Ravard is an easy 12 km hiking trail with a stated duration of 3 hours. Along its route, it passes through the Porte de la Ville, a preserved section of Vouillé’s 15th-century fortifications. The Grande Maison, a former hunting lodge dating from the 16th century and associated with François I and Henri II, is also located along the circuit.

The Circuit de la forêt de Vouillé-Saint-Hilaire is a moderately difficult 18 km trail with a stated duration of 4 hours and 30 minutes. The circular “Sur la piste des puits” trail is 4 km long, takes approximately 2 hours, and starts in front of the Office de tourisme du Haut-Poitou.

Nature

The “Zone de silence” in the Vouillé-Saint-Hilaire forest features information panels and signs to help identify the tree species found there. The Vouillé-Saint-Hilaire state forest covers 1,628 hectares, approximately 800 hectares of which are located within the municipality of Vouillé.

The Vouillé-Saint-Hilaire forest is classified as a type II ZNIEFF No. 193 and is of botanical importance, mainly because of the diversity of the planted species and the low proportion of conifers. The “Sur la piste de Merveille” nature trail is approximately 3 km long, takes 2 to 3 hours, and offers picnic tables on site as well as parking at Bois aux Clercs.

Culture

The free “Découverte touristique du bourg” mobile route covers several kilometres, highlights important stages in Vouillé’s history, and starts at Place François Albert in the town centre. The “Sans Clo, ni Vis…” Tèrra-Aventura route leads through the streets of Vouillé, drawing attention to cultural heritage sites and hidden treasures along the way.

The historic Abbaye Notre-Dame du Pin site is located near Vouillé. Also nearby are the Musée Médiathèque de Poitiers, the Palais des comtes de Poitou palace, and the Amphitheatre of Lemonum, an ancient site.
