Culture
The fortified Abbaye de Nouaillé-Maupertuis was founded in the 7th century.
The Chapelle de Montvinard (Notre-Dame de Monvinard) was founded before the year 1000 and rebuilt in the 13th and 14th centuries. Only the choir remains; the entire nave was demolished in the 19th century. It can only be visited as part of a guided tour booked in advance.
Nature
The Bois de la Garenne covers an area of 37 hectares. It has signposted discovery trails. Information panels explain the history of the forest in the Middle Ages.
Hiking
The Sentier de la Bataille (North) is signposted in both directions, is 8.2 kilometres long and takes approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes to walk.
The GRP® Nouaillé Maupertuis is an easy, 63-kilometre, three-day hiking trail from Poitiers to Nouaillé-Maupertuis.
The Sentier du Pinier leads to the village of Availles; there, the trail points to the Château de Chaumont and the Prieuré de Ste Marie as places of interest.
