In the heart of the Forêt de Moulière lies La Maison de la Forêt, a place for discovery, information, events and exhibitions. From there, several marked and annotated trails lead out, offering an introduction to the local flora, fauna and legends.
Those who choose Montamisé as their destination may wish to find a holiday apartment there.
The Ecuries de la Roche de Bran offer indoor riding facilities in Montamisé with two riding arenas. They also have an outdoor riding arena and a 45-hectare pasture for horses and ponies.
Nature
The state-owned Forêt domaniale de Moulière is open to the public and offers both broad avenues and narrower paths. The Massif de Moulière covers more than 6,900 wooded hectares, including around 4,200 hectares of state forest.
The Gyrotour is a lookout point in the vicinity of Montamisé. The Grotte de Passelourdin, a cave, is also located nearby. The Parc de Blossac is a park in the area.
Culture
The bell tower of Notre-Dame de Montamisé houses three bells that were classified as historic monuments in 1938; the oldest bears the date 1583.
The former quarries of Ensoulesse were in operation from at least the 19th century until the 1920s and 1930s. Stone blocks and underground extraction galleries have been preserved on the site. The former quarry site has been protected under a prefectural order for the protection of biotopes since 14 January 1994 and, together with the slopes of the surrounding dry valleys, forms ZNIEFF No. 177.
A memorial stele at La Roche de Bran names seven Maquisards as well as Andrée Choffat, who died in deportation.
The Médiathèque de Poitiers and the Musée Sainte-Croix, both museums, are located in the vicinity of Montamisé. The Palais des comtes de Poitou is a palace there, while the Amphitheatre of Lemonum is an ancient site.
