The Prieuré de Villesalem was founded at the beginning of the 12th century. The former abbey church and convent building of the Prieuré de Villesalem are protected historic monuments. The semicircular-arched portal of the former church has a notched lower archivolt and capitals supported by columns, featuring human heads. By decree of 13 March 1935, the portal was listed as a historic monument. The Romanesque church of Villesalem has three naves and a sculpted façade.
