The Tardoire runs through Agris for a length of 5 kilometres. To the west of Agris lie 841 hectares of the Forêt domaniale de La Braconne state forest.

Local Life

In Agris, the tennis court near the football stadium can be used free of charge. At Square Guy Cyclope in the Pont d’Agris district on Route de la Rochefoucauld, there is a 14 × 4-metre pétanque court.

Culture and History

The Church of Saint-Caprais in Agris has been listed as a historic monument since 27 February 1925. Its origins are attributed to the 12th, 13th and 14th centuries. Near the entrance, a narrow staircase flanked by loopholes leads to the vault.

Fragments of a Celtic helmet from the 4th century BC were discovered in the Grotte des Perrats. Until the 3rd century AD, the Grotte des Perrats initially served as a Gallic and subsequently as a Roman sanctuary.

The Croix de la Tuillère is a 6.35-metre-high stone wayside cross and has been protected as a historic monument since 1986. Beneath the market hall on Place de la Grange are a limestone mill and a press, which were probably used to produce walnut oil.
