Culture
The Church of Saint-Saturnin de Tanzac was built in the 12th century, while its nave was rebuilt in the 17th century. The church as a whole is protected as a Monument historique; it was listed on 24 January 1958.
The Church of Saint-Saturnin de Tanzac is decorated with remarkable wall paintings from the late 13th to early 14th century in the apsidiole of the transept. They depict the Tetramorph as a symbolic representation of the four Evangelists accompanying Christ in his glory.
The local commemorative landscape also includes a war memorial erected in 1920. It commemorates the soldiers who fell in the First World War; 18 names are engraved on it.
Trails
“La Chasse aux Trésors” is free of charge, can be collected from the Communauté de communes and is valid throughout the year. The intermunicipal game consists of a questionnaire trail connecting the churches of Gémozac and Tanzac.
Trail no. 8 “Tanzac” is part of the hiking and cycling trail network offered by the Communauté de communes de Gémozac.
Landscape
The cycling circuit “En passant par les Fourchauds de Tanzac” leads through the fields and vineyards of the municipality of Tanzac. Along this route, the trail points out the beautiful manor house in the hamlet of Bellevue. An old water pump stands next to the manor house, and pretty stone houses can be seen along the cycling circuit.
