Culture and history

The history of the Châtelaillon-Plage racecourse began in 1928. Every year, the racecourse hosts major race days on the third Sunday in May and on 14 July. It borders 30 hectares of marshland classified as a Natura 2000 site.

The “Balade des villas balnéaires” is a route for independently exploring the history and architecture of notable villas. The Sainte-Madeleine church in Châtelaillon-Plage was built in the 19th century and houses a monumental 600 m² fresco by the artist Amaury Dubois.
