Culture and History
The Église Saint-Pierre is protected as a historic monument; by decree of 12 January 1931, it was placed under heritage protection. The present-day church was rebuilt in the 15th and 16th centuries on the site of an earlier Romanesque church. Beneath its current plaster, it preserves traces of 18th-century wall paintings.
The Château de Romegoux was built between 1501 and 1510 on a promontory overlooking the Charente and the Freussin Valley. A surviving stone outbuilding of the Château de Romegoux was built under Louis XIII and converted into a wine cellar around 1646. It is vaulted over a length of 65 metres and has an upper-floor roof structure in the shape of an inverted ship’s keel.
The Moulin du Besson was built in 1789 and has a Mansart-style roof covered with slate. The mill spans the Bruant and still preserves a seven-metre waterwheel with a three-metre head.
Excavations of the Gallo-Roman villa at the site of Le Paradis uncovered coins, pottery, terra sigillata and a limestone statue depicting a pair of Gallo-Roman deities. Le Moulin du Champ is a restored watermill with accommodation and reception rooms.

Routes
The Route Européenne d’Artagnan is a European equestrian trail with a tourist and cultural focus. Romegoux is part of its second section, which runs through Trizay, La Vallée, Romegoux and Geay. The section passing through Romegoux is marked in orange and connects Sablonceaux in the Pays Royannais with Le Mung in the Val de Saintonge.
The Les Marais du Bruant circular trail in Romegoux is 17 kilometres long. La Flow Vélo is a 290-kilometre cycle route connecting Thiviers in the Dordogne with Île d’Aix in Charente-Maritime.
