Machy is located in the Parc naturel régional de la Baie de Somme Picardie Maritime and borders the Forêt de Crécy-En-Ponthieu. The village developed and expanded in connection with the Maye River.

Nature and Landscape

In the vicinity of Machy, the Forêt de Crécy is open to the public year-round, particularly at the Clairière du Muguet and the Hutte des Vieux Chênes. In this nearby area, the Forêt de Crécy also includes a Natura 2000 site where the European stag beetle and four species of bats are found.

Culture and History

The protected Ancien domaine du comte d'Hinnisdal extends across Regnière-Ecluse, Vron and Machy. It is an example of 19th-century neo-Gothic architecture in the Troubadour style, developed from a 16th-century manor house.

Since 29 June 2023, Machy has been part of the Pays d’art et d’histoire Ponthieu – baie de Somme, an area comprising 48 municipalities.

Machy's architectural heritage includes the Église Saint-Flour, traditional Picardy architecture and a manor house.
