The four circular routes associated with Forest-l'Abbaye in the Crécy Forest are considered easy and are between 6 and 8.5 km long. They cross the forest diagonally from Regnière-Écluse in the northwest to Forest-l'Abbaye in the southeast and are connected to the GR 123. The natural area also includes the type I ZNIEFF “Massif forestier de Crécy, de Périot et de la Grande Vente”, which covers 79 hectares within the territory of Forest-l'Abbaye.

The Circuit du Geai circular route passes through forests and marshland.

History and buildings

In Forest-l'Abbaye, the Église de la Nativité-de-la-Vierge is protected as a historic monument; it was designated as such by a decree dated 20 February 1920. The Puits-pigeonnier dates from before 1600 and was relocated and restored near the multi-purpose hall.

The Templars built a commandery on the edge of the Crécy Forest in the 13th century. The Circuit du Geai circular route also highlights history: it presents the Crécy Forest as the site of the 1346 battle between the French and the English.

The guided tour “Focus sur 1000 ans d’histoire de la forêt de Crécy” presents the thousand-year history of the Crécy Forest. It takes place at 125 Voie Sorel, 80150 Forest-l'Abbaye.

The surroundings of Forest-l'Abbaye include the historic site of Abbaye Notre-Dame de Forest-Montiers, the Abbaye de Notre Dame de Willencourt monastery and the Abbaye de Saint-Riquier monastery.
