Fontenay-Torcy: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
The Moulin Cleutin is located near the sources of the Thérain River, between the upper Thérain Valley and the end of the Boutonnière des Pays de Bray. As a conservatory of rural and industrial heritage, it houses permanent and temporary exhibitions. It has also been converted into a workshop for polishing optical glass, powered by the water power of the river.
Culture and History
The protected cemetery of Fontenay-Torcy contains twelve wrought-iron crosses surrounding the church. The old cemetery also features a calvary cross: a wooden cross on an exceptional base consisting of five large stone steps arranged like a staircase, with a capital above.
The Church of the Assumption of Notre-Dame in Fontenay-Torcy was listed as a historic monument in 1930. Numerous building campaigns between the 11th and 16th centuries led to it being rebuilt several times.
The Moulin Cleutin is recorded on a tithe map from 1742. Individual visits and guided tours of the Moulin Cleutin are available on request.
Cycling and Hiking Trails
The 27 km cycling loop “A travers plateau et vallée du Thérain” passes through Fontenay-Torcy. A circular hiking trail, “A travers plateau et Vallée du Thérain”, leads towards the hamlet of Bec au Vent, which lies within the municipality of Fontenay-Torcy.
