Culture and History

The collegiate church of Saint-Laurent was built after Hildegaud erected a chapel within the castle complex in 1018 and founded a collegiate chapter. The church is designated as a classified or registered historic monument. A bell dating from the 17th century in the Saint-Laurent church bears the names of Cardinal Mazarin and his niece Hortense Mancini.

Rozoy-sur-Serre's local cultural heritage also includes a 17th-century fortified house.

Paths and Landscape

Le chemin des contes begins in the centre of Rozoy-sur-Serre next to the church; several parking spaces are available there for the start. The trail draws attention to the preserved bocage hedges and the half-timbered and rammed-earth architecture typical of the region. The signposted route can be used without major difficulty by pedestrians, touring cyclists and horse riders.

Rozoy-sur-Serre is part of the Route des Lavoirs, a tourist route leading to 26 washhouses in 19 municipalities.

Cider and Regional Products

Clos de la Fontaine Hugo is one of the last cider producers in Thiérache. Its products include Cidre de Thiérache, Pommel, Péti'pomme, traditional apple juice, Confit de cidre, apple vinegar, apple jelly and La Folie Douce.

Clos de la Fontaine Hugo offered a guided tour of the entire cider-making facility followed by a tasting of its own products.
