Culture and history
The parish church of Saint-Martin is located in Grougis on Rue de l'Eglise. It was almost completely rebuilt between 1832 and 1835; the lower half of a tower dating from the 17th or 18th century was preserved. After the First World War, the building was restored. Its bell tower is built of brick and limestone and has a hipped roof; the main building consists of limestone and sandstone.
The Monument aux Morts de Grougis is a limestone monument featuring sculptural and cast elements. It shows a bronze Croix de guerre in front of palm and oak branches. The war memorial was designed by Charles Kohler, a local architect. It stands at the junction of Rue de Verdun and Rue de la Gare and commemorates the wars of 1914–1918, 1939–1945 and the Algerian War.
The Mairie et école primaire de Grougis building was constructed in 1867 and restored after 1918. Its central avant-corps is built of limestone and topped with a hipped roof.
