Hiking
The circular hiking trail “Circuit pédestre la Colline des Châtaigniers” is 14.7 kilometres long, classified as moderately difficult, and takes approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes. It is designated as a Sentier de Promenade et de Randonnée (PR) and starts at the car park of the community hall on Rue de la Passerelle in Thouarsais-Bouildroux. The trail leads from calcareous soils to the Chestnut Tree Hill.

Nature
The Communal Joubert de Thouarsais-Bouildroux area is home to Dactylorhiza incarnata; it is the fourth known location of this orchid in the Vendée. The area is designated as a type 1 ZNIEFF under code 520016257.
The picnic area by the Boursaudière water feature has six shaded tables that are accessible to people with reduced mobility.
Culture
The church of Thouarsais dates from the 15th century and served as a castle chapel. The Church of Saint Martin was built in the 13th century. Ribbed vaults and machicolations are still visible on it today.
Food and drink
Fromagerie Le Purdeau produces fresh goat’s cheese palets, plain or with herbs, in ten different flavours. Its goat’s cheese is made from raw milk and shaped by hand with a ladle. The Fromagerie sells its products on Sunday mornings at the market in Thouarsais-Bouildroux.
