Fourteen alleyways form a labyrinth between Rue Catherine de Thouars, Avenue des Moulins and the castle.
At the entrance to each alleyway, a mosaic reveals its name and meaning. Next to each mosaic is a QR code providing access to a 20- to 30-second audio explanation of the history of the alleyway’s name and the choice of illustration.
Pouzauges Castle is a medieval fortress with 355 metres of curtain wall. The Church of Notre-Dame du Vieux Pouzauges contains 12th- and 13th-century wall paintings, rediscovered in 1948 and arranged across three levels. A seven-minute audio presentation is available for visitors to Notre-Dame du Vieux Pouzauges.
The twin windmills of Terrier Marteau were built in the 18th and 19th centuries.

The Les Étangs trail connects Vieux Pouzauges with Bois de la Cibretière and passes around ten or so ponds. The Les Étangs trail offers views of Pouzauges and the surrounding area.
The Sentier Nature leads from Pouzauges Castle through Bois de la Folie to the windmills of Terrier Marteau.
Les Manoirs et Logis is a panoramic circular trail in Pouzauges that passes two manor-style estates.
Local area
At the site of the Terrier Marteau windmills, bread, brioche, flour and drinks are sold on site.
