Aizenay: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Nature

The Forêt d’Aizenay is classified as a Zone Naturelle d’Intérêt Écologique, Faunistique et Floristique (ZNIEFF) and covers 450 hectares.

Paths

The Coëx–Aizenay cycle route runs along the former La Roche-sur-Yon–Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie railway line. The Vie et Quatorzane route is included in the departmental plan for hiking and walking routes (PDIPR).

Culture

The Église Saint-Benoît is a Neo-Gothic church with remarkable stained-glass windows. Archaeological excavations at this building uncovered a Merovingian necropolis; the church was listed as a historic monument in 2007.

The Chapelle Saint-Joseph was built in 1880 as an oratory to commemorate the people who had been buried in a cemetery that was closed in 1868.

The Salon d'automne is an exhibition featuring works by professional artists and work by the town’s schoolchildren, centred around an honorary guest.

The Sentier du Souvenir was inaugurated on 1 July 1995 at the crash site of the bomber. The Stele de la Brionnière honours Louis Buton and commemorates the dropping of three tonnes of weapons near the Ferme de la Brionnière on 11 August 1943, organised by him.
