Culture and History
The Église Saint-Aubin is a former priory church; its nave and porch probably date from the second half of the 11th century.
A left side aisle was added to the Église Saint-Aubin around 1553.
During the Wars of Religion in the 16th century, the former Saint-Aubin priory church was fortified for defence.
The church has a wooden bell tower dating from the 17th century.
The Église Saint-Aubin also features fortification elements dating from around 1600.
The Église Saint-Aubin can be visited year-round. The key can be obtained from the town hall, bakery or butcher’s shop in exchange for leaving an identity document as a deposit.
Visits to the Église Saint-Aubin took place during Heritage Days on the third weekend of September.
Gardens and Agriculture
The Jardin du Grand Sablon can be visited on the first weekend of June as part of “Rendez-vous au Jardin”, as well as by appointment.
The grain-growing area of Ferme All’Herbe can be visited to learn about three principles of soil-conserving agriculture: permanent soil cover, no soil disturbance and crop diversity.
At Ferme All’Herbe, visitors are welcomed among the pastures; the cows live there year-round in a dynamic grazing system.
A tasting of products is offered during a visit to Ferme All’Herbe.
