Conflans-Sur-Anille: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Conflans-sur-Anille is situated on a promontory in the picturesque landscape of the Anille Valley. The town centre lies at the confluence of the Anille and Axone streams, which are also known as Roulecrotte. Renting a holiday apartment in Conflans-sur-Anille can be part of your travel plans.

Culture and history

The Église Saint-Maurice contains a remarkable ensemble of preserved murals. It was created between 1863 and 1865: Dubois painted the scenes and figures, while Goislard was responsible for the ornamental design under the direction of Louis Bodin, comte de Galembert.

The Moulin Gauthier is also part of the local history. The former fulling mill was used to full pieces of cloth and wool, and had belonged to the Cour-du-Bois seigneurial estate since at least the 16th century. Conflans-sur-Anille also has a preserved old house with a half-timbered façade. The former rectory is now used as the town hall.

In the immediate vicinity is the Ancienne Abbaye de Saint-Calais (disparue), a monastery that no longer exists. The Abbaye Saint-Laurent du Gué-de-Launay, a historic site, is also located nearby. Further afield in the region are the Château de la Flotte, a château, and the Abbaye de la Virginité, a historic site.

The Circuit de la photographie is listed for Conflans-sur-Anille, covering 23 kilometres, with a 16-kilometre variant. The Parcours-découverte de Conflans-sur-Anille can be left to see the area around Château de La Barre, or you can follow the Anille Valley around Petit Moulin.

Château de La Barre developed from a fortified manor house dating from the 14th to the 16th century into the larger and more elegant château it appears to be today. Another route is the Circuit dit des Cormiers: this 16.11-kilometre hiking trail leads through sunken lanes and the hilly landscape of the Perche Sarthois. Sections share the route with the GR® 235, and the higher points offer 180° panoramic views.
