Oisseau: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In Oisseau, the Aux Pas de Quincampoix hiking trail begins at Place de l’église; 66 percent of its route runs along unpaved paths. A shaded section follows the river, while information panels provide details about the biodiversity of Coteau du Vallon. Part of the trail has been awarded the label of Mayenne Nature Environnement. Along the Quincampoix route stand the buildings of the former weaving mill, built in the 19th century; an information panel is located nearby.

Culture and History

The Chapelle de Loré, dating from the 14th century, and the remains of its former fortifications were listed as historic monuments on January 15, 2007. The main structure of the Saint Pierre church was built in the 14th and 15th centuries; the current bell tower was added to its western façade in the 18th century.

The stained-glass window depicting a saintly cardinal in window 4 of the Chapelle Notre-Dame-de-Pitié in Loré probably dates from the early 16th century. Only a few remains of the 14th-century fortified house survive in Loré, distributed across a group of buildings rebuilt over the centuries. Ambroise de Loré accompanied Joan of Arc on the campaigns that led to the coronation of King Charles VII in 1429.

At Camp de Marêtre, the concrete foundations of the domes are still preserved.
