The Ernée Valley between Monthéreux and Gué Guerin is associated with a former mill. Pierre Montpinçon is a hill formed by large boulders on a fir-covered elevation overlooking the Perche Valley in the Mayenne Forest.
Route 9 L’Oscence descends into the Ernée Valley, where there are slate outcrops and shaded valley flora. Culture and History
The La Pierre Saint-Guillaume polissoir in Montenay is classified as a historic monument; the classification took place on December 31, 1889. The church of Montenay was built from 1875 to 1879 and consecrated in 1880.
The Maison du Chapître is a preserved part of a former Augustinian monastery dating from the 16th century. It has a door with profiled frames and decorated window surrounds.
The Pierre-Saint-Guillaume polissoir lies south of the hamlet of La Berthelière, which is located east of the municipality of Montenay, on a municipal road. The Pierre-Saint-Guillaume polissoir was carved in the Neolithic period from outcrops of Armorican sandstone in the Mayenne Forest.
The Café-Concert Le Décibel offers a programme featuring local talent and international groups. The Médiathèque L’Oscence in Montenay belongs to the reading network of the Communauté de communes de l’Ernée, through which books, magazines, CDs, DVDs and video-on-demand services are available free of charge.
