Port-Joulain in Marigné was a recognised fortress in the 14th century. A century later, the first château and its chapel, which has survived to this day, were built on its remains.

The Église Saint-Pontien is a church built in the 16th century on the remains of a chapel dating from the 10th and 11th centuries. It was consecrated on 4 July 1512 and dedicated to Saint Pontius. The Motte féodale dates from the 11th and 12th centuries and is considered to be a remnant of the noble ruling family of Marigné.
