Beauvoir-Sur-Mer: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Nature
Beauvoir-sur-Mer is located in the Marais Breton Vendéen, a landscape of wet meadows, reed beds, polders, canals and tidal creeks.
The Marais du Bout de Sac regional nature reserve was established in the municipality of Beauvoir-sur-Mer on 26 September 2025. It provides a habitat for black-tailed godwits, redshanks, green toads and the rare dragonfly species known as the large-stigmata emerald.
Those who choose Beauvoir-sur-Mer for their stay may wish to rent a holiday apartment there.
Culture
The Church of Saint-Philbert stands exactly where Saint Philibert had a Benedictine monastery built towards the end of the 7th century. Its most important structural elements were built between the 11th and 12th centuries.
Geographical Location
The Port du Bec is located at the mouth of the Étier du Dain canal between Bouin and Beauvoir-sur-Mer. Its pontoons, supported by wooden posts with interwoven rows of piles, are reminiscent of ports on the China Sea; that is why the port is nicknamed “Port chinois”. There are bars, restaurants and shops there. As the tide comes in, visitors can watch the oyster farmers at work.
The Passage du Gois is a 4.150 km-long road section that is flooded at high tide, connecting Noirmoutier Island with the mainland and becoming visible twice a day. At high tide, it is covered by approximately 1.50 to 3 metres of water, depending on the tidal coefficient. It can be crossed from 1 hour 30 minutes before to 1 hour 30 minutes after low tide; safety instructions are displayed at the access points.
Activities
La Maison de l'Ane is an educational farm and animal park in the Marais Breton Vendéen. Visitors can learn about various donkey breeds and other farm animals there. Donkey rides are offered on the premises for children weighing up to 35 kg; donkey hikes outside the premises are also available by reservation. In the afternoon, there are demonstrations of milking jennies and processing donkey milk into soap.
The orienteering course can be completed on foot or by bicycle, either alone, with friends or with the family.
