Tôtes: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Culture

The Church of Saint-Martin in Tôtes was built in the Gothic style between 1849 and 1879. There are beautiful brick houses along the Le Havre–Amiens road and on Rue Guy de Maupassant.

The Château Dupuis is located opposite the former station of the Tortillard; the little train served Tôtes on the route to Clères. Guy de Maupassant wrote his first literary success, Boule de Suif, at the Auberge du Cygne. Opposite the auberge is the private Château de Belloy, which was built in the 19th century.

The Manoir du Bosc aux Lièvres has two turrets flanking its façade. At the same time, it is characteristic of the residential buildings of the Pays de Caux and features colour contrasts created by the use of sandstone and brick.

History

During the Nazi occupation, the hamlet of Bonnetot was selected as the site of a V1 launch ramp.

Cuisine

At the Ferme de Bonnetot, apple brandies and various apple juices are produced from apples.

A tour of the Ferme de Bonnetot may include a presentation of the apple workshop or a visit to the remains of the V1 facility, as well as a tasting. By prior arrangement, the Ferme de Bonnetot offers guided tours with a tasting during the visit.
