Derchigny: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Derchigny is home to the Château de Wargemont. Its dining room, including two panels painted by Renoir, was classified as a historic monument by decree of 8 October 1993.

Culture

The Chapelle Saint-Matthieu was built in the 18th century to replace an earlier religious building. It is constructed of brick, flint and sandstone and topped by a small bell tower. The chapel features murals, an 18th-century pulpit with elements from the 15th century, a baptismal font and 18th-century statues; it is privately owned.

The Église Saint-Valéry has a 16th-century baptismal font and preserves tufa remains from the 11th and 12th centuries.

Nature

The Boucle de Pierre Auguste Renoir leads through a small woodland and across the Les Goulets plains before reaching Sauchay le haut.

Les jardins de Cotelle are English gardens near the Château de Derchigny. Depending on the season, visitors can see viburnums, clematis, roses, hydrangeas and perennial plants there.

Geographical Setting

The Abbaye d'Arques-la-Bataille and the Château de Dieppe are located in the area surrounding Derchigny. Both are historic sites near the village. The Plage de Varengeville-sur-Mer, a beach, is also located nearby.
