The Château de Beauvais is a fortified Perche manor house built towards the end of the 16th century on the site of a medieval castle mentioned since the 12th century. Today, only the two round towers in the southeast remain: the one on the left houses a dovecote, while the one on the right serves as a chapel.

The surviving enclosure and the two towers of the Château de Beauvais have been partially listed as Monuments historiques since 26 June 1992. The Manoir du Mont-Gâteau has also been partially listed as a Monument historique; the protected features are the residential building and the barn’s façades and roofs.

The Église Saint-Pierre-ès-Liens has a 15th-century nave and a former 13th-century monks’ chapel, which was opened to the nave in 1808. The church also has a keep and bells dating from the 11th century.

Nature and trails

The Sentier nature de Ceton follows a 6 km discovery trail through the surrounding countryside and provides information about the local wildlife, flora and landscape. Water and activities

The Étang de Ceton is available for fishing from sunrise to sunset. Pole fishing, carp fishing, predator fishing and crayfish fishing are all possible. A footpath also runs along the Étang de Ceton.

Randonnées Cetonnaises organises a hike on the third weekend of every month. Ecurie de la Petite Colline offers private riding lessons at the riding arena in Les Rieux, Ceton.

The H²O swimming pool at Ceton’s leisure centre offers aqua aerobics, swimming lessons and activities for babies learning to swim. The leisure centre also offers free outdoor games as well as sports and exercise activities.

Events and excursions

C’est Ton Bal Trad organises workshop dance evenings at the Foyer Rural in Ceton on the first Thursday of every month. Participants can learn and dance traditional dances from the Perche, Brittany, France and other regions, including circle and partner dances, bourrées, waltzes, Scottish country dances and mazurkas.

Perche E-motion is located in the hamlet of Les Galottières in Ceton. The activities include self-guided rides on marked circular routes specified by GPS starting from the Hameau des Galottières, as well as accompanied excursions. There are also accompanied or self-guided rides on all-terrain electric scooters through the surrounding countryside.

Local delicacies

Perche E-motion’s accompanied APERO TROTT and GOUTER TROTT rides include AOP Perche cider or apple juice, as well as an aperitif platter or a sweet snack.
