Culture

The Église Saint-Pierre in Prétot-Sainte-Suzanne dates largely from the 15th century; the pillars supporting the tower are of Romanesque origin. The church has a cruciform layout with two small side chapels. The north wall of the nave contains a now-bricked-up Romanesque doorway. The church is illuminated by 18 stained-glass windows; most were made by the Parisian glass artist A. Vigneron and are dated 1949.

The Église Saint-Pierre houses the polychrome wooden statue “Vierge de calvaire, dite sainte Opportune”, dating from the late 15th to the 16th century and protected as a listed object. The sculptural group “Saint Roch, l'ange et le chien” stands on a plinth at the rear of the west façade. The statue “Sainte Suzanne” dates from the first half of the 14th century.

Three avenues lead to the Château de Sainte-Suzanne; the main avenue is lined with oak trees.

Hiking

The “Sous-bois et vallée de la Senelle” hiking route is designated as circular route C14 on the local hiking map; individual leaflets and GPX downloads are available for the hiking routes. The route is 5.8 km long, easy, and designed as a circular walk returning to the starting point. It begins at Place Colonel Louis Mendez and crosses both branches of the Senelle.

Prétot-Sainte-Suzanne is located in the “Parc naturel régional des Marais du Cotentin et du Bessin” Regional Nature Park. Departmental road D24 runs through Prétot-Sainte-Suzanne.
