In Saint-Hilaire Church, the northern side altar with tabernacle and altarpiece is listed as a protected movable cultural heritage object. The ensemble consisting of the altar, tabernacle and altarpiece is made of carved wood decorated with polychrome paint and gilding. A statue of the Virgin and Child stands in the central niche of the altarpiece.
Trails and Landscape
After passing Le Neufbourg Church, the “Crêtes et Monuments de Mortain” hiking route continues towards Grande Cascade. The Sentier Fulgence Bienvenüe connects Vire and Pontaubault along a former railway line; the access point is near Le Neufbourg railway station. On the Sentier Fulgence Bienvenüe, you can experience landscapes between forests and rocks alongside rushing waters.
The Pont du Diable is one of Le Neufbourg’s local cultural heritage highlights. In Le Neufbourg, guided village tours with one of the municipality’s local village guides are available.
