The protected area of Étang de Gattemare covers 80.85 hectares and extends across Gatteville-le-Phare, Gouberville and Néville-sur-Mer. Étang de Gattemare is open to the public and offers a designated walking route.

The bell tower of the Église in Gatteville-le-Phare dates from the 11th century; the church itself dates from the 15th, 18th and 19th centuries. The Romanesque bell tower of the Église was classified as a monument historique by a decree of 24 June 1975, while the rest of the church was placed under heritage protection on the same day.
Phare de Gatteville was built between 1829 and 1834. It is 75 metres high and is considered the second-tallest lighthouse in France.
