Cuves: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The Moulin de Cuves is a three-wheeled watermill on a mill channel in the Sée Valley. It has preserved its mechanisms, three external wheels, three internal mills, a grain-cleaning machine, a sifting machine and goods lifts. As a building, it is representative of the architecture of the large rural mills in the lower Sée Valley. The oldest mention of the Moulin de Cuves is found in a copy of the founding charter of the collegiate church of Mortain from the year 1082. In the traditional buckwheat milling process at the Moulin de Cuves, a water wheel drives a pair of millstones; a sifting machine sieves the ground grain.
